When the course for Week 3 popped up on the screen, every bay had the same reaction: a small twitch at the words "Bay Harbor."

Week 1's Bay Harbor Preserve is still collecting golf balls from that night. Relief set in fast, though. This was the other Bay Harbor, the Links/Quarry course, and it's a lot friendlier: wider, more open, far less out of bounds. Friendlier doesn't mean easy. It was still a tough place to go low.

Open fairways and fewer white stakes. Nobody had to re-tee five times on one hole.

The Black Tie Affair is on pause. After five ties in the first six matches, Week 3 produced a winner in every bay.

Nick & Bob Macon vs. TJ & Levi

Final 6 – 3Win

Welcome back, TJ! After two weeks of subs holding down the fort, the full TJ & Levi lineup was back in Bay 1. Nick and Bob Macon kept the putter warm from last week and took this one 6–3 for their first win of the season, which moves them into second place.

Bob (Pro) & Jamie vs. Chris & Brian

Final 5.5 – 3.5Win

A classic case of chirp now, pay later. Chris and Brian came in with the trash talk, and the Pro and Jamie closed the door on them quickly. Last week Bob and Jamie told us they were "playing the long game." Turns out the long game is about three weeks.

The Pro also carded an eagle on 7. It was impressive. We know it was impressive because he told us. Several times. He may still be telling people.

Bob and Jamie were the biggest underdogs on the Week 3 pick'em board at +250. Anybody who took them looks very smart this morning.

Bay 3

Justin & Brandon vs. Phil & Chad

Final 6 – 3Win

Bay 3 was a battle with the course and the computer. A few tech snafus slowed things down, but Justin and Brandon stayed locked in and won 6–3 to stay on top of the table.

Phil came to league night straight from hockey, and for exactly one swing he was still on skates. The wild part? He hit a bomb. On blades. The follow-through was a little less graceful. The official ruling is that Phil simply swings with too much power for ordinary footwear, and the rest of the league would like the skates banned immediately.

Exhibit AA dramatic re-enactment of Phil's swing. Not actual footage. Probably. Tap for sound.
BreakingJustin & Brandon stay unbeaten (2-0-1) and lead by a point. Nick & Bob Macon move into second.

Last week's fan poll asked how many ties we'd have after Week 3. The answer is five, so nobody won that one. "There will be blood" voters came closest, and Wednesday delivered on it.

Does chirping work?

A question for the ages, and for Bay 2.
